Learn more about the anatomy and movements of your horse in order to develop a better understanding of equestrian communication.
--- Seat training ---
Experience the harmony between you and your horse through a new sense of seat, balance and a deep understanding of the horse's biomechanics. With targeted individual lessons, both on the lunge and in free riding, I will help you to build a fine and harmonious connection with your horse.
--- My passion for horses and riding ---
My vision is to bring the modern rider closer to the horse in its natural state.
My journey with horses began at the age of four with my first own pony. Over the years I have enjoyed success in show jumping, polo and eventing. I am particularly proud of my contribution to the development of the ‘Mounted Games’ sport in Germany - an exciting equestrian game for children and young people. From 1994 to 1999, I was the trainer of the ‘Waldhof’ Mounted Games team in Lüneburg Heath, which became German champion in the youth class in 1998 and 1999.
In addition to training horses and riders, since 2000 I have increasingly focussed on ground work, both on the short and long reins. As a trainer for the supreme discipline ‘long reins’, inspired by the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, my focus is on perfecting the fine interaction between rider and horse.
In my many years of experience, however, I have increasingly realised that many riders do not optimally adapt their seat to the horse and its biomechanics. I grew up with regular seat training on the lunge and have never given up this practice - on the contrary, I am still learning. Because I am firmly convinced that a good rider's seat is essential in order to harmonise with the horse's biomechanics. Even experienced and successful riders, such as those at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, continue to take seat lunge lessons to refine their connection to the horse.
Whether on the lunge or in free riding - I offer targeted seat training that helps you to engage more consciously with your horse and harmonise with its natural movement.

‘After a long search, I found what I was looking for four years ago at Silke Vollmers. Since then I've had everything from a single source: seat training, riding training, ground work with short reins and lunge work.
I am very happy to have found a trainer in her who, with great consistency and determination, does everything she can to turn me into a knowledgeable rider and to train my horse in a healthy way.’

I have been working regularly with Silke Vollmers since a course on the correct seat. Through her consistent way of paying attention to the correctness and accuracy of the aids and seat in every session, I have been able to further develop myself and my riding skills as well as the level of training of my horses. With every session, little aha moments occur that make correct riding and the horse's suppleness more natural. What is important to Silke, in addition to the correctness of the aids and sitting, is that the student understands what is happening with the horse and rider and what connections there are.
The work on the short reins/ground was completely new territory for me, Silke Vollmers introduced me to it in an understandable yet challenging and encouraging way. Both my older riding horse and my young horse really benefited from this. The work on the short reins has been part of our training programme ever since and we can no longer imagine life without it.

I take riding lessons with Mrs Vollmers. She has the ability to evoke different images in the mind and thus pick up different characters instead of just the familiar phrases, which are not understandable and tangible for everyone. She also finds an excellent balance between the necessary calmness and sensitivity, but also the sometimes necessary firmness and discipline. She challenges horse and rider without overtaxing them.
Furthermore, you are picked up where you stand. And it doesn't matter whether it's about riding or seat lungeing. Or ground work such as lunging or short and long rein work. Training according to old school, biomechanical principles but also modern knowledge. I am happy that I found Mrs Vollmers. My horse is also fit and healthy and now runs happily under the rider. Thanks to Mrs Vollmers, I am learning to become a better and better rider for my horse. And that's good for me and good for my horse.
