Silke Mary Vollmers

I was born 1966 in Jakarta, Indonesia, and grew up in Jakarta, Singapore and Germany. In 1986 I trained as a freight-forwarding clerk in Hamburg. After that I spent several years working in England, the native country of my mother, and then in Kenya, where many of my English relatives live. My father was German.

In Germany I have worked as a marketing manager, project manager and key account manager. In my last role, I was the account manager for an American supplier in the European railways sector and looked after key accounts such as Bombardier, Siemens and Alstom. My knowledge of the English language coupled with my marketing degree from the Academy of Economics in Lübeck (1997) have both contributed significantly to the success I have had in my career thus far. However, I owe a great deal of my professional expertise to what I have learned from my horses.

In the 1990s, I helped my parents to build up the Mounted Games Sports Event (equestrian games for children and young people on horseback) in Germany. From 1994 to 1999 I trained Waldhof, the Mounted Games team from Lüneburg Heide, who went on to become German Champions in the junior class.

In the late 1980s I acquired my pilot’s licence in Cranfield, England. Flying is another great passion of mine.

I would like to pass on my positive experiences with the trainer horse to people who are interested in change and self-reflection. I am convinced, with the help of horse-supported coaching, decisive impulses can be set for the professional and personal path.
