Silke Mary Vollmers

Silke Mary Vollmers

Leadership that is felt – not just understood.

I am Silke Mary Vollmers – and my most important teachers have always had four legs.

I was born in Jakarta and grew up internationally – between Indonesia, Singapore, Kenya, and Germany.
This diversity continues to shape my perspective on people, systems, and communication.

My professional path led me from training as a freight forwarding agent to a degree in marketing, and into international leadership roles in England and Germany.
Most recently, I was responsible – on behalf of an American supplier – for the European rolling stock market, developing it from zero to a seven-figure turnover, in collaboration with companies such as Siemens, Bombardier, and Alstom.

However, what has truly shaped me from the very beginning are horses.

Horses as Teachers

Since the age of four, horses have accompanied me – not only as sport partners, but as precise teachers of leadership and clarity.

  • First own pony at the age of four
  • Success in show jumping, polo, and eventing
  • Co-development of the “Mounted Games” discipline in Germany
  • Coach of the “Waldhof” team (German Youth Champions 1998 & 1999)
  • Training of horses and riders
  • Since 2000: intensive groundwork, long reins and short reins
  • Trainer for long-rein work in the tradition of the Spanish Riding School Vienna
  • Since 2011: silent language equine-assisted management coaching

Horses do not respond to words, but to what is truly present.
And that is exactly where their power as a mirror lies.

Coaching & Qualifications

  • Systemic coach
  • Advanced training with firm, Leipzig
  • Neuro-Coaching additional module (2022)
  • Mentor at Leipzig University (2013–2014)
  • Member of the Federal Association of Women in Business and Management (2013–2016)

My work combines solid methodology with direct experience – outdoors, in real interaction.

Flying – Perspective Shift

Alongside horses, flying is my second great passion.
In the late 1980s, I obtained my private pilot licence (PPLA) in England.

For me, flying means:
gaining distance, maintaining overview, and making clear decisions.

This dual perspective – closeness (with the horse) and distance (in the air) – continues to shape my work today.

My Approach

Change does not begin in thinking, but in experience.

Equine-assisted coaching makes visible:

  • How clear is your communication really?
  • How does your inner attitude affect others?
  • Where are you getting in your own way?

I work with people who are willing to look honestly – and translate that into concrete action.

Purpose

I pass on my positive experiences with horses as trainers to people who want to develop – both professionally and personally.

I am convinced:
horses create impulses that words alone often cannot reach.
